How do you like to relax after a long and stressful day?
When you come home after a long day, you just don’t want to do anything. You just want to throw yourself on the couch and rest while watching meaningless videos or social media posts. Perhaps we are all taking a rest in that way. However, after sleeping day and night or binge-watching movies all day long during the weekend, we often feel even more tired. After having spent weekends meaninglessly like this, I have come to the conclusion that we'd better be more serious about ‘how to rest well’.
Throughout the day, our brains are exhausted from a lot of information on the Internet and consuming social media content. Covering that fatigue with more information from TV, smart phones, etc. is a bad habit that makes it impossible to be fully healed. In order for the mind to rest, the toxins that are filling the mind must first be removed.
Meditation doesn't have to be grand or complicated. It is enough just to look back on the day and let go of the thoughts that make you tired.
